This past week, and whats ahead

I've still been pretty busy with sessions even though weddings have almost stopped for the year.  Since I have all of this free time I thought now would be a good time to jump in to printing our own work ourselves.  In the good old days I used to stay up all night working in the darkroom wondering if it was considered sleeping since I couldn't see anyway, but now I am hoping that our new printer can spend all night working by it's self.  So far I have had some major headaches to deal with, but the results are well worth it, the colors are awesome, the images are sharper, and our finished product looks like a million bucks!  Enough talk for now, here are some images from this week.

 

 

 

 

 

Family pix from Omaha

These are just a few of the hundreds of images that were taken by www.cerizo.net while we were in Omaha last weekend.  I haven't gone through them too well yet, but I thought I would post a few that caught my eye.

I'm sure she won't like that one 'cause it's wind blown... But I love it!

 

Will

Little Will is the most entertaining of the three, and with two cameras on him for half the day he was "on".  At one point I had him in the cutest spot with perfect light and I got him to sit, but after 10 seconds he said "whoa, what am I doing?  I need to run..." in his cute little voice.  He also just missed getting eaten by a swan, but thats another story.

 

 

 

 

Hannah

Hannah is becoming my most difficult child to photograph.  She is beautiful but becoming too self- conscience.  I love her to death, but it's hard to capture her innocence.

 

 

 

 

Haley

This is the first of several blog entries from our trip to Omaha.  I'm sure that most people wouldn't understand why I would pack up the family and drive for 3 hours just to take pictures of my own kids, but it really is the only way.  You see I don't like photographing my children, they hate me...I'm sure of it, the only way I can do it is to make it a big deal and make sure that there is no way out for me.  If I'm 3 hours from home I can't remember something at the studio that needs my attention.  While we were down there we hooked up with an old friend who is one of the most inspiring photographers I have ever worked with, so when I wanted to give up he took over.  This post is just my ramblings and some images that I captured of Haley, we'll follow up with my shots of the other 2 kiddos, then when I get the images from Micheal I'll post some of those.

 

 

 

 

Mike and Nicole

Saturday was a strange day for me...  I woke up feeling great, but the longer I sat on the couch doing nothing the sicker I got.  Then Wendy left me home alone for the whole day to do nothing but eat cold pizza, sure there were a million things I could have/should have been doing, but without adult supervision I just ate cold pizza and got sick.  Then in the afternoon I finally got up and went to the studio for an engagement session.  Other than me feeling strange and screwing up Mikes name everything went great!  I think I have learned an important lesson... no probably not.

 

 

 

Rob, Leah and Thatcher

If there was ever a little boy that disliked me for no good reason it is Thatcher.  For his newborn pictures he was perfectly behaved, after that he wouldn't give me the time of day.  Every attempt to get him to smile is a total failure, all I get is him looking right through me.  We alway end up with a few great images in the end so I guess it's worth it!

 

 

 

Getting Caught up

I've been really busy trying to get everything caught up lately so I've gotten behind on the blog posts.  One of the things I've run into in the last few weeks is people grabbing their images off of the blog to use on Facebook or to just email friends, I really don't mind that happening (great advertising!) but I thought that if that was happening I should at least have my name on them.  So from now on all blog images will have our logo on them so that no matter where on the web the end up everyone will know who created them.  Feel free to copy and paste them to show off, but please don't crop off our logo.

OK now on to what we've been up to...

A wedding from two weeks ago that I thought was up already.

 

 

 

 

A senior girl, Haley, that we didn't get blogged because I was busy putting brakes on my truck and my mind wasn't on the blog....Sorry, but at least now I can stop again.

Cody

I had a great time photographing Cody last night, he has been in martial arts since he was little so I had the chance to step out of the norm.  Maybe I spent too much time with the tae kwan do and hapkido but I think the results were worth it!
